Welcome to East Coast Driving Academy Inc. By accessing our website, registering for a course, booking a service, or participating in any of our training programs, you agree to these Terms of Use. Please read them carefully before enrolling.
1. Enrollment & Course Completion
Students must complete their training within the following timeframes:
- Driver Education Program (35 Hours): Online theory must be completed within 12 months of enrollment.
- Defensive Driving Course (6 Hours): Must be completed within 90 days of enrollment.
- In-Car Driver Training: Required driving lessons must be completed within 9 months of successfully completing the theory portion.
Failure to complete a program within the required timeframes may result in additional fees, re-registration requirements, or the inability to receive certification.
2. Student Responsibilities
To help ensure a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment, students are expected to:
- Arrive on time for all scheduled lessons and appointments.
- Carry a valid Learner's Licence or Driver's Licence during every lesson.
- Follow all instructions provided by their instructor.
- Drive safely and responsibly throughout each lesson.
- Treat instructors, staff, other students, and members of the public with courtesy and respect.
- Wear appropriate clothing that allows safe and comfortable vehicle operation.
- Wear secure, closed-toe footwear that provides proper control of the vehicle pedals. Flip-flops, high heels, platform shoes, or other unsafe footwear may not be permitted during lessons.
- Notify the Academy as soon as possible if they need to cancel or reschedule a lesson.
- Ensure all outstanding fees are paid according to the agreed payment schedule.
- Provide accurate and up-to-date contact information.
East Coast Driving Academy Inc. reserves the right to postpone, suspend, or discontinue any lesson if a student's behaviour, clothing, footwear, physical condition, or failure to follow instructor directions creates a safety concern.
3. Certification Requirements
To receive an official Driver Education Certificate, students must:
- Successfully complete all required online and in-car training.
- Demonstrate safe and responsible driving skills.
- Meet all course completion requirements.
- Pay all outstanding balances in full.
East Coast Driving Academy Inc. reserves the right to withhold certification until all program requirements have been successfully completed.
4. Scheduling, Cancellations & Rescheduling
In-Car Lessons
- A minimum of 24 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule a driving lesson.
- Late cancellations, missed appointments, or no-shows may result in the loss of the scheduled lesson.
- Pickup and drop-off locations should be confirmed when booking. Changes may only be accommodated where operationally possible.
Online Courses
- Refunds, cancellations, and course access are governed by our Sales & Refund Policy.
5. Safety & Instructor Discretion
Student safety is our highest priority.
East Coast Driving Academy Inc. reserves the right to postpone, cancel, suspend, or discontinue any lesson if an instructor determines that:
- Weather or road conditions are unsafe.
- A student's behaviour creates a safety risk.
- A student's physical or mental condition may impair safe driving.
- The student's clothing or footwear creates a safety concern.
- The training vehicle is unsafe to operate.
- Continuing the lesson would place the student, instructor, or members of the public at risk.
Safety-related decisions made by instructors are final.
6. Service Areas
Pickup and drop-off services are available within our designated service areas.
Please visit our Locations page to view our current service areas, training locations, and availability. Additional travel fees may apply for locations outside our standard service area.
7. Payments & Refunds
Course fees must be paid according to the agreed payment schedule.
Certificates will not be issued until all outstanding balances have been paid in full.
Refunds, cancellations, and payment policies are governed by our Sales & Refund Policy.
8. Limitation of Liability
East Coast Driving Academy Inc. provides professional driver education designed to promote safe and responsible driving.
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not responsible for a student's independent driving decisions or actions outside scheduled training sessions.
- We do not guarantee the successful completion of any road test, examination, or licensing assessment.
- We are not liable for delays, cancellations, or interruptions caused by weather, traffic, road closures, mechanical issues, government actions, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
- Our liability is limited to instruction provided during scheduled training sessions.
9. Privacy
Personal information is collected, used, stored, and protected in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable Canadian privacy legislation.
10. Website Use
All content published on this website, including but not limited to text, images, videos, graphics, logos, course materials, documents, branding, and other intellectual property, is owned by or licensed to East Coast Driving Academy Inc. and may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, modified, or used without prior written permission.
11. Changes to These Terms
East Coast Driving Academy Inc. reserves the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time.
Updated versions become effective immediately upon publication on our website. Continued use of our website or participation in our programs constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms of Use.
